Walter Sobocinski &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Jan. 7, 2002 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; alter P. Sobocinski, 94, of South Main Road, Mountaintop, died Monday in
Davis Manor, Mountaintop, where he had been a patient for five weeks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Born July 30, 1907, in Long Island, N.Y., he was a son of the late Walenty
and Mary (Pryoki) Sobocinski. Before his retirement, he worked for Owens
Illinois, Pittston Township. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II with
the field artillery that participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was a
member of St. Jude's Church, Mountaintop. He was also a member of Am Vets Post
59, Hanover Township, and the Senior Citizens, Mountaintop. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Fela; and brother,
Bolic ``Blackie.'' &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his sisters, Stella Sudo, Hanover Township; and Edna Blanke,
North Arlington, N.J.; brother, Mitchell, Hanover Township; and nieces and
nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Military funeral will 9:15 a.m. Thursday from the Charles V. Sherbin
Funeral Home, 630 Main Rd., Hanover Green section of Hanover Township, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Jude's Church. Interment will be in
St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.
