WVIA-TV Channel 44 will broadcast ``Progress and Prejudice: Treating Mental
Illness in the Modern Community'' tonight at 10:30. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This educational video will be presented in cooperation with the
Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pennsylvania mental health consumers in the video share their experiences
of prejudice and misunderstanding. The project is part of an outreach campaign
to help Pennsylvanians learn more about mental illness and the effects of
society's prejudice against those living with mental illness. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 It was produced by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and
statewide advocacy organizations. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 ``Stigma is the most critical barrier to people receiving services and we
hope that this video can eliminate that obstacle, thus allowing people in need
to freely participate in services,'' said James Gallagher, administrator of
the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties MH/MR Program. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
