Pittston Area needed just one game to pick up first win of 2015 softball season

Jenkins Township/Duryea Yankees pitcher Drew O&#8217;Malley pitched 5-plus innings, giving up just one hit and stuck out 12 batters to beat the Pittston City Red Sox on Wednesday.O&#8217;Malley did not allow an earned run in the win.Kyle Breymeier put the game away in the fourth inning with a two-run inside-the-park home run. Tyler Wassel had a double and Mickey O&#8217;Malley had a triple.Jenkins/Duryea Yankees 7, Pittston Township 2Cameron Kohut recorded the first win of the season for the newly-merged Jenkins Township/Duryea Yankees on Monday.Kohut allowed six hits over 5-plus innings. He had six strikeouts and walked two. Mickey O&#8217;Malley, Drew O&#8217;Malley and Anthony Thomas had doubles for JTD. Kyle Breymeier had the first hit for the Yankees.For Pittston Township, Ed Murdoch had two hits.Jenkins/Duryea Phillies 7, West Pittston 3JTD&#8217;s Joe Slusark struck out 10 batters in four innings to pick up the win on Monday against West Pittston.Jacob Black led the Phillies at the plate with a double, triple and four RBI. Connor Mulhern and CJ Demark also had key hits. Ryan Zapko, Nick Ceresaro and Aiden Mehal held down the defense.Pittston Township 13, Jenkins/Duryea Phillies 0Pittston Township&#8217;s Anthony Cencetti and Stephen Sciandra led the attack. The duo combined for five hits and pitched four scoreless innings.Matt Prociak led the Phillies with a single.
