Andrew Berecin &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 January 30, 2003 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ndrew G. Berecin, 70, of Carteret, N.J., died Thursday at Rahway Hospital,
Rahway, N.J. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Born in Plains Township, he was employed as a chemical engineer at the FMC
Corp., Carteret, N.J. for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean
War and was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Star
Landing Post 2314, Carteret. He was a member of the Honor Guard of the VFW and
president of the Carteret Dart League. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Josephine Gulczynski; sons, John and
Andrew, both of Carteret, N.J.; sister, Ann Hajala, Exeter; brothers, Mike,
Miners Mills; Joe and George, both of Plains Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday from the Synowiecki Funeral
Home Inc., 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, N.J., with a Mass at 9 a.m. at Holy
Family Roman Catholic Church, Carteret. Interment will be in Clover Leaf
Memorial Park, Woodbridge, N.J. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
