Luzerne County Community College held a graduation ceremony at its Hazleton
Center for graduates of the Readiness Employment Development Program for You.
The program focuses on pre-employment training and soft skills training. It is
funded through state grants to assist with future hirings at the Simmons
Mattress Co., which is expected to begin operations in the spring. The program
is sponsored by Bemis Co. Inc., Fabri-Kal Corp., George Hayden Inc., Exopack,
Alcoa Kama Corp., PPL, PSI Container, Thoren Caging System Inc. and UGI
