WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Wilkes-Barre on Monday announced an agreement with Florida-based Community Champions to maintain the city&#8217;s database of foreclosed properties. The database will also allow residents to submit locations of abandoned properties on the city&#8217;s website.In 2010, City Council passed the vacant property ordinance to remedy the rash of blighted properties through a $200 annual per property registration fee, increasing each year the property remains vacant with no work done on it.For over four years, Community Champions has been partnering with 55 communities across five states, according to their website.Stay tuned to timesleader.com for further details.
