Soldiers from the 814th Quartermaster Company, based in Bloomsburg, have
been in Mosul, Iraq, since Oct. 26. They arrived in Kuwait on Oct. 6, 2004,
picked up equipment from the port and traveled north to Camp Buehring, Kuwait.
On Oct 22, 2004, they began their 750-mile, four-day journey north to Mosul
with 37 vehicles. They traveled through Baghdad, skirted around Fallujah,
through Tikrit, and continued to their base of operation, Camp Diamond. The
vehicle pictured is the new M-114 armored Humvee, mounted with two machine
guns. The vehicle is used when insurgents probe and attack any portion of the
base. The M-114 Humvee is also used on many off-base missions, to provide
security for broken-down vehicles. Kneeling, from left: Staff Sgt. Young,
