FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) &#8212; Boo Weekley made three consecutive birdies in the middle of his round to take the lead at Colonial, and finished with a 4-under 66 on Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory in five years.
Weekley never trailed after those birdies on Nos. 8-10, which came about the same time Scott Stallings made double bogey at No. 15 to drop out of the lead.
At 14-under 266, Weekley finished a stroke ahead of Matt Kuchar, the second- and third-round leader who closed with a 68. Defending Colonial champion Zach Johnson, who also won at Hogan&#8217;s Alley in 2010, shot 66 to finish third at 12 under for his first top-10 finish this season.
Both of Weekley&#8217;s previous wins were at Harbour Town, in 2007 and 2008.
Stallings finished with a 66 to tie for fourth at 11 under with John Rollins (68) and Matt Every (69).
SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
ST. LOUIS (AP) &#8212; Kohki Idoki erased a five-stroke deficit against a fading Kenny Perry with room to spare, charging to a two-stroke victory in the Senior PGA Championship.
It was the third bitter final-round major tournament failure for the 52-year-old Perry, who led by three strokes with six holes to play but settled for a second-place tie with Jay Haas.
The 51-year-old Idoki closed with a 6-under 65 to finish at 11 under at Bellerive Country Club to become the first player to win the tournament on his first attempt since Michael Allen in 2009. Idoki got a beer shower from fellow Japanese players Joe Ozaki and Kiyoshi Murota after finishing ahead of Perry&#8217;s final group.
Perry shot a 72, and Haas had a 70. Perry squandered a two-stroke lead with two holes to go in the 2009 Masters and also let victory slip away in the 1996 PGA.
BAHAMAS LPGA CLASSIC
PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (AP) &#8212; South Korea&#8217;s Ilhee Lee won the Bahamas LPGA Classic for her first title, finishing with a 5-under 42 for a two-shot win over Irene Cho in the 36-hole tournament.
Lee made a clutch par putt on the second-to-last hole in a raging wind to keep a one-shot lead, and then she drilled a fairway metal out of light rough and onto the par-5 18th green to set up a two-putt birdie.
It was only fitting that she finished in a downpour. Flooding earlier in the week left so much of the Ocean Club course under water that the tour&#8217;s best option &#8212; especially with new sponsors Ohio-based Pure Silk and the Bahamas Tourism Ministry &#8212; was to shorten the course to 12 holes and play three rounds to reach the 36 holes required for an official event.
Lee finished at 11-under 126. Cho shot a 7-under 40.
BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP
VIRGINIA WATER, England (AP) &#8212; Italy&#8217;s Matteo Manassero became the youngest champion in the 58-year history of the BMW PGA Championship, beating England&#8217;s Simon Khan with a birdie on the fourth hole of a playoff.
Manassero, at 20 years, 37 days, made amends for letting victory slip away two years ago at Wentworth. The previous youngest winner was Scotland&#8217;s Bernhard Gallacher in 1969 at 20 years, 97 days.
With the victory, his fourth European Tour title, Manassero qualified for the U.S. Open next month and avoided a 36-hole qualifier Monday at Walton Heath.
Manassero closed with a 3-under 69 to match Khan and Scotland&#8217;s Marc Warren at 10-under 278. Khan finished with a 66. Warren, eliminated on the first extra hole, shot a 69. Manassero and Khan each birdied the first three extra holes.
MEXICO CHAMPIONSHIP
LEON, Mexico (AP) &#8212; Michael Putnam won the Mexico Championship for his second career Web.com Tour title, closing with a 6-under 66 at at El Bosque for a two-stroke victory.
Putnam finished with a 13-under 275 total and earned $126,000 to jump from 11th to first on the money list with $246,234. The 29-year-old former Pepperdine player also won the 2010 Utah Championship.
Wes Roach, Alex Prugh and South Korea&#8217;s Whee Kim tied for second. Roach had a 70, and Prugh and Kim shot 72.
