First Posted: 5/24/2013 (AP) A bail hearing is scheduled for a Philadelphia couple who believe in faith healing over medicine and are charged with third-degree murder in the April death of their 8-month-old son.
Herbert and Catherine Schaible (SHY'-bul) are being held on $250,000 bail and are scheduled for a hearing Friday. Their attorney plans to ask a judge to lower the bail, but prosecutors want them held without bail.
The Schaibles are charged in the death of their baby son, Brandon. They had been convicted of involuntary manslaughter after another child, 2-year-old Kent Schaible, died in 2009.
Prosecutors say they prayed over Brandon for two weeks before he died, and never called a doctor.
The couple's seven surviving children are in foster care.
