What do medical marijuana and illegally crossing a border have in common?
They&rsquo;re both federal crimes.
Federal law asserts that it supersedes state and local laws when it comes to legalizing medical marijuana for terminally ill patients.
Federal law says no.
State and local governments cannot legalize something that federal law has deemed a crime.
The federal government will deal harshly with those states and municipalities that attempt to usurp its authority.
So where then are the feds when it comes to these mayors proclaiming their towns &ldquo;sanctuary cities&rdquo; for illegal border crossers?
