The Greater Wyoming Valley Youth Salute named Jessica Ras and Alexander Pretko, both of Wyoming Valley West High School, local youth Leaders of the Year at this year&rsquo;s Youth Salute Banquet held at The Tribeca Center in Pittston Township. Another Valley West student, Jeff Shucosky, was named second place runner-up. Ras and Pretko have the opportunity to attend the Town Meeting on Tomorrow at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., in October. The Town meeting is sponsored by the National Council on Youth Leadership and recognizes students throughout the country from 46 states. Students nominated for Youth Salute must have at least a 3.5 grade point average, leadership and achievement background in all the high school years.
