Riverview Ridge Observes National Assisted Living Week

LUZERNE COUNTY: The familiar sound of The Salvation Army bell-ringers will soon fill the air with the spirit of Christmas at several Wyoming Valley area kettle sights. 
The Salvation Army of Wilkes-Barre will begin its annual Kettle Campaign on Nov. 15. 
 Individual bell ringers, families, as well as community groups, are needed weekdays and Saturdays to help with this fundraising effort, which supports the agency&rsquo;s annual budget. 
Groups also can compete in the annual &ldquo;kettle competition&rdquo; to see who can raise the most during kettle season. To volunteer, or for more information, contact The Salvation Army at 824-8741. 
 The Salvation Army Center for worship and service is located at 17 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Wilkes-Barre. 
The building houses the Kirby Family House, administrative offices, kitchen, food pantry, classrooms, gym, game room, mobile emergency disaster kitchen (canteen) and supplies, and a chapel. Since Jan. 12, 1885, The Salvation Army of Wilkes-Barre has been committed to meeting the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of families as well as individuals who are in crisis or &ldquo;at risk.&rdquo;
