If you are someone who pays close attention to the national debate concerning term limits for members of Congress and state legislators, then you may have missed a very important point concerning the very town you live in.
				There is an old saying, &ldquo;power corrupts.&rdquo; That is to say, that if water sits too long in a pothole, bacterium tends to form. It also forms in smoked-filled rooms at our municipal buildings, which house our crony local officials.
				It&rsquo;s on both sides of the political aisle, Democrat and Republican alike.
				But you as a voter can do something about it. Your vote is more powerful than you may realize. If you&rsquo;re tired of having the same council member, the same old mayor and other officials who seem to affix themselves to your local government, then do something about it.
				This year is a local election year. We&rsquo;re not voting for president; we&rsquo;re not voting for U.S. congress or state offices, but for your local government.
				Are you registered because if you didn&rsquo;t vote in the past two years your registration card may have expired. Contact your local election office to see if you can make a difference.
				I believe we need term limits for municipal elections. Let&rsquo;s continue the debate. Call your talk radio station, write a letter to the editor and let&rsquo;s make a difference.
				When the food in your refrigerator has a sell date that has expired, you throw it out. Maybe the same solution applies to the crony politicians that just won&rsquo;t go away.
				Just put a sticker on them, and put them out on the curb.
