Michael E. Belotti, 83, formerly of Old Forge, died December 25, 2008, in the Coral Bay Skilled Nursing Facility, West Palm Beach, FL, where he was recovering from pneumonia. He was the husband of Helen Ardiere Belotti, who passed away in 2003 after 46 years of marriage. The couple married in 1956. 
He was born in Old Forge, a son of the late Michael R and Della A. Yakobitis Belotti and graduated from the Old Forge High School in 1943. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering. He then entered the Air Force and served as a bombardier and navigator. After serving in the Air Force, he had a career as an industrial engineer and continued on as an officer in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. In the mid 1970s, he changed careers and became a teacher at Old Forge High School, teaching math and computer science, until he retired. He was an active member of St. Lawrence Church, Old Forge.
Since his wife&rsquo;s death, he has resided with his son and his family in Wellington, Fla. 
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard, who passed away in 1994. 
He is survived by a son, Michael, Jr., and his wife, Cathy; a granddaughter, Jessica; a brother, Joseph; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 
Funeral services were Jan. 3 from the Palermo &amp; Zawacki Funeral Home, Old Forge, with a Mass in St. Lawrence Church, Old Forge. Entombment, Cathedral Mausoleum, Scranton.
