Holy Cross Club Presents Man Of The Year Award

Kindergarten students through third-graders are invited to write and illustrate original storybooks for the 15th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers &amp; Illustrators Contest. Applications and additional information are available now through March 6 at local libraries, on  www.wvia.org or by calling (570) 602-1182
The contest is sponsored by the award-winning PBS television series Reading Rainbow. WVIA, together with more than 100 other PBS stations nationwide, offer the contest. 
&ldquo;It is a perfect project for teachers to use as a tool in their classroom. It is so easy to integrate this contest into the classroom curriculum,&rdquo; said Andrea O&rsquo;Neill, WVIA&rsquo;s director of education.
Reading Rainbow airs weekdays at 3 p.m. and creates lasting friendships between children and books. 
Each child that enters the contest will receive a special Certificate of Achievement. First place winners from each grade level will receive Reading Rainbow DVD&rsquo;s.
