Courthouse display loses true meaning for writer
 I recently drove past the Luzerne County Courthouse and saw something that put a smile on my face and a warm spot in my heart. Yes, the Nativity scene. Then, I spotted the loophole.
 Standing there proud as ever was &ldquo;Jolly Old St. Nick.&rdquo; Oh, I&rsquo;m sorry, for legal purposes, &ldquo;Santa Claus.&rdquo;
 I also read in The Times Leader on Nov. 25 the display must now include a menorah, a snowman, a snowflake, a Christmas tree with Kwanzaa symbol ornaments and a sign that reads &ldquo;Luzerne County celebrates its cultural heritage this holiday season.&rdquo;
 They forgot the snow-woman, the Native American, the Muslim, Buddhist and Hindu symbols.
Oh, can&rsquo;t forget Scientology!
 I guess Luzerne County was the easy fight to win.
Here&rsquo;s a harder one: In a court of law we swear to tell the truth under &ldquo;God.&rdquo; Talk about a legal issue to support the separation of church and state!
Hillside building shouldn&rsquo;t carry Mundy&rsquo;s name
I was very disappointed to read The Lands at Hillside Farms has named its education center after state Rep. Phyllis Mundy, D-Kingston.
It is ironic that birthday parties would be celebrated at the center when Mundy denies the unborn a birthday due to her pro-abortion platform. One in three children will never celebrate a birthday due to abortion.
This apparent lack of integrity on behalf of Hillside Farms is very disturbing, and I highly recommend it remove her name from the building.
