WILKES-BARRE — Police with Reading and Northern Railroad withdrew charges of disrupting or preventing operation of train and defiant trespass against a Wilkes-Barre man who claimed to be placing coins on railroad tracks in White Haven.

Peter Austin Stulec, 27, was charged when railroad police alleged he caused a passing train to stop when the train crew believed they struck a pedestrian at the Berwick Street Crossing on March 28, 2020.

After the train stopped, the crew learned the train did not strike anyone.

Stulec claimed he was placing coins down on tracks for his daughter.

Charges were dismissed against Stulec at a preliminary hearing in Luzerne County Central Court Thursday.
