First Posted: 1/2/2014 HAZLETON &#8212; Too cheap to get a hotel room, city police allege Moises Pichardo, 26, forced his way inside a neighbor&#8217;s apartment to have sex with a woman while his girlfriend was in his third floor apartment, according to charges filed.
Erica Mundo told police she arrived at her residence in an apartment building on Carson Street on Wednesday to find damage to the front door and a dead bolt she didn&#8217;t use locked from inside.
Mundo noticed a bathroom light turned on. She knocked on the door and the light turned off and a neighbor tenant she knows as &#8220;Moses&#8221; emerged, according to the criminal complaint.
Pichardo told Mundo he was &#8220;just looking after the place&#8221; claiming her apartment was burglarized. Mundo told police another woman was in her bedroom with condoms.
Police went to Pichardo&#8217;s apartment that is above Mundo&#8217;s apartment.
Pichardo allegedly asked police not to tell his girlfriend that he was in a neighbor&#8217;s apartment with another woman due to the sexual activity they were participating in. Pichardo stated he was in the neighbor&#8217;s apartment because he was too cheap to get a hotel room, the complaint says.
Pichardo was arraigned Thursday by District Judge James Tupper in Kingston Township on a single count of criminal trespass. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
