The Wyoming Area Scholarship Celebration committee has begun meetings to plan the second annual event. The event will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. A brief program will begin the festivities and then there will be light refreshments at which time the donors and recipients and their parents can get acquainted. 
A scholarship information night will be held for seniors and their parents and anyone else from the community who is interested in scholarships on Thursday, January 13, 2011 in the high school auditorium. Present will be donors who will talk about their individual awards as well as recipients from last year. Donors and guidance personnel will be available after the presentations for any questions from the audience. Juniors and their parents should also plan on attending so they can acquaint themselves with this process. Anyone interested in this guidance department program who has children attending the Wyoming Area School District is welcome to attend this presentation. 
Accepting Additional Scholarships
Wyoming Area Scholarship Celebration committee is accepting any new scholarship awards from any individual, family, civic organization and/or business who would like to establish a scholarship award to be announced at the second annual scholarship celebration planned for Thursday, May 26, 2011. The first annual scholarship celebration was very successful and several community people/groups had expressed an interest in developing a scholarship. Before the scholarships are available on line it would be a good idea to contact Mrs. Rabel at the school and she will forward the names to the committee members and they will contact the possible donor(s) and help them develop their award. Presently the committee is working with three new potential scholarship donors.
