CD found in Florida breathes new life into NEPA’s Totally Lost Cause

EXETER &#8212; The Wyoming Area School Board approved an agreement Tuesday night for a sale of vehicles to the school district from the borough of West Wyoming with final approval to be made by the district solicitor.The vehicles in question are a GMC dump truck with a plow and tailgate spreader, a police cruiser and a trailer to haul school equipment.Board member Carl Yorina explained that the sale process will be used by the district rather than bidding to replace worn-out vehicles currently used by the school district, including a police car that may not pass inspection this year.Once approved, the purchase of roughly $13,250 will be made utilizing the district&#8217;s budget.The board also approved the first reading of a revised tobacco-use policy for pupils.Originally established in 1999, the policy now states that the school district will be considered a tobacco free zone. Under Pennsylvania statute, students possessing or using tobacco on school property will be fined, regardless of age.A request from Chrissy Campenni, a former student from the Class of 1994, to plant a tree and place a plaque for Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Bryon Dickson at the Secondary Center was accepted. Dickson was killed in an ambush at the Blooming Grove Barracks in Pike County last year. Dickson graduated from Wyoming Area.The tree and plaque will be purchased by class members.The district will close the Anthony &amp; Eleanor A. Angeli Memorial Scholarship Trust account, as per request of the Angeli family which will continue to administer the scholarship.School Nurse Sandra Nardell submitted a letter of intent to retire, accepted by the board, at the end of the school year.
