First Posted: 2/10/2014 Luzerne County Judge Fred Pierantoni has removed Attorney Shelley Centini from defending Hugo Selenski on two counts of criminal homicide.
Pierantoni has found that there was a conflict of interest with Centini defending Selenski due to charges filed by the state Office of Attorney General alleging Centini and Selenski intimidated at least five prosecution witnesses.
With Centini&#8217;s removal, Selenski is left with one attorney &#8212; Edward Rymsza &#8212; on the case.
Rymsza refused to be the lead defense lawyer but said he will continue defending Selenski in a secondary role.
Pierantoni has scheduled a trial for May, which likely will be continued again.
