Weather postpones RailRiders game

The opening game of a four-game series between the RailRiders and Pawtucket at PNC Field was postponed on Thursday due to inclement weather.Temperatures were forecast for the low 30s with wind chills 10-15 degrees below that, along with rain and snow showers.Instead, the teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game starting at 4:05 p.m. and the weather predicted to be near 60 degrees at gametime on Saturday.Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is coming off a series win over Lehigh Valley, taking two of three games versus their closest rival in the International League. SWB has won five of six games overall entering tonight&#8217;s series opener with the PawSox at 7:05.Pawtucket (9-5) entered Thursday tied with Buffalo and Norfolk for having the most wins in the I.L., while the RailRiders are currently 7-7.The RailRiders could be back to full strength for tonight&#8217;s game as Kyle Roller and Ramon Flores, who each left games earlier in the week, may be ready to get to back to action.Scheduled to pitch on Thursday were RailRiders right-hander Kyle Davies (1-0, 0.00) and Pawtucket lefty Henry Owens (0-0, 4.09). The two should be in line to take the hill for Friday night&#8217;s game, which will consist of fireworks after the game.The four-game set wraps up on Sunday with an afternoon game, scheduled time 1:05 p.m.
