Do you know a hero? Someone who has saved a life? The American Red Cross of Northeast Pennsylvania is looking to recognize ordinary people who have performed extraordinary acts.They will be recognized at the Seventh Annual Everyday Heroes Awards breakfast set for Thursday, June 18 at the Holiday Inn Wilkes-Barre East Mountain.The Red Cross is now accepting nominations and members of the community are needed to identify and recognize local heroes from Luzerne County. The following categories will be honored:* Adult Good Samaritan* Youth Good Samaritan* Law Enforcement* Fire Safety* Military* Medical Hero* Animal RescueNominees may be a professionally-trained lifesaver (police, fire, EMT, doctor, nurse, etc.) or a Good Samaritan who saw something and did the right thing.To nominate someone for one of these categories,, call 570-823-7161.
