HANOVER TWP. &#8212; Police said they forced their way into a Lyndwood Avenue residence to rescue a woman being assaulted early Sunday morning.Police said Patrick Burkoski, 38, was arrested and taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for arraignment on charges of simple assault and harassment.Police were dispatched to the residence for a report of a domestic assault and arrived to hear loud banging and a woman yelling for help. Burkoski could be seen through a window on top of a struggling Margaret Ann Murray with his forearm across her throat, police said.Police said they forced open a locked door and took Burkoski into custody. Murray declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.
