First Posted: 5/26/2014 BEAR CREEK TWP. &#8212; A shooting death in a wooded area off Swanson Road on Sunday night was not suspicious, acting Luzerne County Coroner William Lisman said.
He spoke to the media after the body was removed the scene around 9 p.m.
The body was found by people riding all terrain vehicles in the area, he said, adding, &#8220;There is no suspicion of foul play at the hands of another.&#8221;
Emergency responders were dispatched around 6:45 p.m. for a report of a gunshot victim. State police and a Plains Township ambulance proceeded down a private dirt road to get to the scene.
Lisman arrived around 8:05 p.m. and proceeded down the road. He and several other vehicles exited soon afterward and traveled a few miles to the right-of-way of a power line off Pittston Boulevard. They followed another dirt road, descending a steep hill on the right-of-way for better access to the scene.
A tow truck later followed the same route to retrieve an ATV.
