Man on the Street: ‘Have you ever made or received a prank phone call?’

DALLAS TWP. &#8212; The Dallas Township Police Department will host its first Special Needs Open House from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at the police department, 2919 State Route 309.The purpose of this open house is to provide those in the community with special needs a relaxed and fun experience at their local police department. The goal is to promote a dialogue between the special needs community and the police, provide them with specific public safety information, education, and safety and to get to know those in the community better.Residents with special needs and their families/caregivers are invited for the following activities:&#183; Tours of the police department&#183; Police officer meet and greet&#183; Up-close look at a fire truck, ambulance and police car&#183; Children&#8217;s coloring station and give-away bags&#183; Special needs/public safety brochures and information&#183; County 911 will be present to assist in the &#8220;Smart 911&#8221; registration&#183; Light snacks and refreshmentsAnyone planning to attend is asked to register by calling the police department at 570-674-2003 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or by emailing smaloney@dallastwppd.org.
