Susquehanna Breakdown music festival: new name, old fun

First Posted: 5/23/2014 It&#8217;s always said that a community comes together in times of adversity. On May 11, the staff and residents at our Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center experienced firsthand this support from our Dallas/Harveys Lake community when emergency responders assisted in a safe and orderly evacuation of the facility due to a mechanical problem in the boiler room.
As the system was fixed, our residents were cared for at Reliant facilities in the region.
I thank Harveys Lake Fire and Ambulance, Kunkle Ambulance, Transmed Ambulance, Idetown Fire along with Luzerne and Harveys Lake emergency management members for their timely and sensitive response during this episode at Lakeside, and for their professionalism through the whole episode. All of the emergency personnel involved were wonderful in helping staff and making our residents feel safe and comfortable during a stressful situation as they transferred to other facilities.
We are so fortunate to be a part of this community and truly appreciate the service of such individuals, especially those who are volunteers.
First responders are the heroes of every community, and were certainly heroes to those at Lakeside on that Sunday afternoon. On behalf of all of us at Lakeside and Reliant Senior Care, we thank you for your assistance
