&#8226; DeanaB: Mr. Namey was my art teacher when I attended West Side Tech. One of the best teachers I ever had. Even after I graduated in 1983 and would run into him, he would always remember me. He was a kind and gentle man and will be sorely missed. Prayers to his family.
&#8226; Stevo One: This Kingstonian absolutely hated Lee Namey when he played at Meyers. But that didn&#8217;t last when I got to know to him at Wilkes, where he also played football. Terrific guy. He also was head of a union local. Was it the Teamsters? Anyway, sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family.

We, the hardworking, legal citizens are paying to feed and care for 184 illegal criminals who should not even be in my country and then the Supreme (Court) elects not to even agree to review Hazleton&#8217;s ordinance that would help keep this slime out of my country! The federal government is failing in everything that protects its legal and taxpaying citizens. All of us should deduct $500 from our federal income tax until it gets the attention of our elected officials. This is beyond disgusting, and the time for a Second Revolution is rapidly approaching.

&#8226; nolanmulligan: These problems are created by the federal government that fails to enforce immigration laws and provides easily obtained benefits that entice these people to enter the United States for a better lifestyle or to escape their criminal past. There is nothing wrong with people becoming U.S. citizens, but there needs to be a legal entry process that screens applicants. The current level of illegals entering the United States has undermined our economic structure. Individual states need to become aggressive on enforcement programs that force the federal government to respond.

For instance, these illegals do pay sales tax on their purchases. These illegals do pay federal taxes on their cellphone bills. These illegals do pay taxes on every gallon of gas they purchase.
I am trying to find the amount of unclaimed tax refunds not claimed by illegals, but it stands to reason that if their employers are paying withholding on their salaries, the situation may not be as bleak as one may think.

Of course, undocumented workers are not supposed to have a Social Security number. So for them to get tax returns, the IRS created an ITIN, an individual taxpayer identification number. A nine-digit ITIN number issued by the IRS provides both resident and nonresident aliens with an identification number that allows them to get thousands of dollars in earned income credit!
