ALLENTOWN &#8212; A Pennsylvania mother has been charged with attempted homicide after authorities say she threw her 1-year-old son into a river and then jumped from a bridge in an attempted murder-suicide.Rescuers pulled Johnesha Monae Perry and her son Sunday afternoon from the Lehigh River near the Hamilton Street Bridge in Allentown.The 19-year-old Perry is charged with one count each of attempted homicide and endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of aggravated assault. She was arraigned in her bed at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.Sheriff&#8217;s deputies are standing guard. She&#8217;s being held in lieu of $100,000 bail pending a May 11 preliminary hearing.Lehigh County&#8217;s public defender&#8217;s office says a lawyer hasn&#8217;t yet been assigned to the case.Officers found the baby about 700 yards downstream and performed CPR. Police say Perry and the baby are in critical condition but expected to survive.
