Letter to the editor: Neighbor lauded for compassion toward cats

Dear Editor:I&#8217;m penning this letter to you with regard to Charlie Spano.Approximately two-years-ago, Charlie and his wife took in a semi feral cat who&#8217;d been living under their deck. Not only did they adopt this cat, but they actually brought her to the vets regularly, had shots administered, flea treatments, and spayed and neutered. They even tamed &#8220;Mrs. Bean,&#8221; which is the name my son and I chose to call her.My son and I called the cat Mrs. Bean for all the hilarious things she would do.It&#8217;s people like the Spanos who go out of the way to make our area a much better and safer place to live. Too often are animals treated like trash and too hard to find are kind and giving people like my neighbors.More importantly, Charlie and Mary Rose reduced the number of feral cats and made a lot of families content with her kittens.Freddie Sallom
