PITTSTON &#8212; Officials of the Pittston Memorial Library announce that a Health Fair will be held at the library in a new conference room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7.The library has been designated an Affiliate Member of the Middle Atlantic Region National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and has received approval of a grant from that entity to help sponsor the fair. The library is seeking other financial sponsors in order to add to its budding collection of health and wellness books and materials and to ensure meeting the needs of the library regarding implementation of the fair.The fair is funded in part with federal funds from the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services with the University of Pittsburgh, Health Sciences Library System.Howard J. Grossman, fundraising director at the library, is coordinating the fair and is working on developing at least 20 booths that will be handing out materials and answering questions about their role in the community.
