DALLAS &#8212; The Back Mountain Memorial Library invites everyone to one of the most anticipated events of the season: The Annual Auction Kick-off Dinner and Mini Auction.This year&#8217;s dinner will be held on Monday, June 8 at the Apple Tree Terrace of Newberry Estates, Dallas. The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d&#8217;oeuvres from 6 to 7 p.m. with a cash bar. A buffet-style dinner will follow, including grilling station featuring saut&#233; of beef tenderloin Diane with horseradish sauce; grilled garlic and herb chicken with garden rice pilaf; roasted asparagus and smoked gouda au gratin red potatoes; and grilled salmon with peach bourbon glaze. The pasta station will offer a choice of penne or bow tie pasta and choice of marinara, tomato vodka or Alfredo sauce.The dessert station will include mini assorted desserts, cookies and French vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and sprinkle toppings.A mini auction featuring auctioneer Steve Traver will immediately follow the dinner. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your bidding skills and prepare for the annual auction which will be held July 9, 10, 11 and 12.The mini auction will offer items from Antiques, New Goods, Nearly Olde and the Flower Tent. A silent auction and Chinese basket raffle will add to the fun along with the annual raffle for the auction quilt raffle, currently on display inside the library.Tickets are $2 per person and may be purchased at the library until Friday, May 29. Call the library at 570-675-1182 for more information.Pandora beadsWith the arrival of June and graduation season, the library is still offering commemorative Pandora style silver beads for both Lake-Lehman and Dallas High Schools. The beads have been custom made for graduates in 2015 and are considered rare. The price for a bead (alone) is $35 and the price for a bead on a leather bracelet is $4.The library will be closed on Monday, May 25 to celebrate Memorial Day and will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, May 26.
