First Posted: 1/9/2015 SUGAR NOTCH &#8212; Mayor William Davis said at Wednesday&#8217;s borough council meeting that the borough has asked for aid for its part-time police department from neighboring municipalities.
Davis said the council has asked for help from Warrior Run and Ashley in recent months. A meeting will be held Thursday with council members of each borough to negotiate an agreement between the boroughs.
In other matters:
&#8226; Several ordinances &#8212; including the regulation of road closures by the street department for infrastructural repair, sewer maintenance to prevent blockage and the proper designation of vacant properties by tenants &#8212; are being drawn up and revised in preparation for a work session next month.
&#8226; Postcards will be sent to residents with receipts for garbage collection bills in the coming weeks.
