Crestwood holds off Dallas for District 2 boys lacrosse title

The purpose of the Downtown Residents Association is to work to promote and improve one of the oldest neighborhoods in Wilkes-Barre.We do this by sponsoring public presentations, advocating for our neighbors and holding community functions. To this end, we recently held a mayoral forum.We wish to take this opportunity to express our thanks to those people who made our recent event such a success. The Downtown Wilkes-Barre Business Association and the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, as marketing cosponsors, did a great deal to get out the word and helped promote the event. Wilkes University allowed us the use of the Henry Student Center&#8217;s ballroom in which to hold the event.Thanks also goes to the membership of the Downtown Residents Association, without whose backing this forum would not have been possible. In particular, we thank Michael Ward and John Sokolowski, for a fine job of moderating, and Pat Parks, our chief coordinator, who put it all together.We also thank all the candidates for their participation and the great number of people who took the time to attend the forum.Eileen KenyonForum co-coordinatorWilkes Barre
