First Posted: 3/21/2014 Volunteers at Candy&#8217;s Place, the Center for Cancer Wellness, recently visited the oncology unit at the Geisinger Henry Cancer Center to distribute hand-crafted wellness kits to Geisinger cancer patients for use while undergoing treatments. The kits are purse-size bags made out of unique material donated by locals and Sew Fine Draperies of Luzerne and include items such as a first aid kit, pill box, pen and tablet, reading material, antibacterial hand sanitizer, lip balm and several coupons for area Subways. Some of the items were donated by local individuals and others were made possible by two grants, one from the Luzerne Foundation and one private donation. The wellness kits are also being distributed to new patients at Candy&#8217;s Place, 190 Welles St., Forty Fort.
