Letter to the Editor: Remember casualties of war and for what they were fighting to protect

Responsible adults should never give alcohol to a minor. In cultures that encourage giving children a little wine with their meal, the rate of alcoholism is astronomical. Everyone I know whose parents let them drink with the family as children struggles with alcoholism now.When I see someone with MD, DO, or PhD after their name recommend wine to control cholesterol, I am disgusted. They just might be encouraging a lifelong addiction to the misery of alcoholism.It&#8217;s ignorant to fear and fight over the legalization of marijuana when alcohol is perfectly legal and even worshiped by many in the United States.Louise EdwardsRoss Township
