First Posted: 1/4/2014 BETHLEHEM &#8212; The Wilkes University women&#8217;s basketball team ended its seven-game losing skid when it defeated John Jay College of Criminal Justice 59-53 in the consolation game of the 13th annual Roosevelt&#8217;s Moravian Winter Classic on Saturday.
Elena Stambone wa snamed to the all-tournament team and led Wilkes in scoring with 19 points, nailing three three-pointers, while Chelsea Brown finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
The Colonels will return to action Monday at 7 p.m., when they host Juniata in a non-conference matchup.
King&#8217;s 87, Gwynedd-Mercy 83
King&#8217;s overcame a 12-point deficit and rallied for a victory over host Gwynedd-Mercy.
Marissa Manning led King&#8217;s with 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks, while Jennifer Fabian followed with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists.
COLLEGE MEN&#8217;S BASKETBALL
Scranton 83, Wilkes 68
Scranton earned a victory over Wilkes in the final game of the Cross County Challenge.
Wilkes&#8217; Steve Stravinski was named to the all-tournament team after netting 17 points on 4-for-5 shooting from long range. Alec Wizar contributed a team-high 18 points.
Misericordia 68, St. Joseph&#8217;s 65
Cael Evans led four players in double figures as Misericordia earned a win over St. Joseph&#8217;s in the opener of the Catholic University Holiday Inn Classic.
Evans had 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Steve Ware added 11 points. Erik Kerns and Matt Greene both posted 10 points.
Marywood 77, King&#8217;s 68
Marywood pulled off a victory over King&#8217;s on the final day of the Cross County Challenge.
Joe Caffrey topped King&#8217;s with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while Tim O&#8217;Shea also added 15 points.

Misericordia places fourth
Misericordia finished fourth in the four-team field of Tampa Relay Carnival.
Pete Kolokithias, Thomas Scott, Bobby Jacobs and Chris Gleason led MU with a fifth-place finish in the 800 free relay (7:39.67).

Misericordia finished sixth in the six-team field at the University of Tampa Relay Carnival.
Bree Grzech, Amanda Stammherr, Brittany Luzik and Dani Blass led MU with a seventh place finish in the 400 medley relay (4:18.11).
COLLEGE WRESTLING
King&#8217;s loses two
King&#8217;s lost a pair of matches as part of the PA/NY Duals with a 24-20 final against RIT and dropping a 30-11 decision to SUNY Oswego in the nightcap.
King&#8217;s held a 20-18 lead going into the final match against RIT, but a pin scored on Elijah Gresham to secured the win for RIT.
Jamie Scarantino (125) earned a pinfall win for the Monarchs.
