First Posted: 10/9/2014 In the book of Genesis we are told that God created man and woman and told them to increase and multiply. The fact that marriage is between one man and one woman has been universally held by the citizens of this nation since our founding by our God-fearing leaders. Now that seems to be changing, sadly.
It is reported that 24 states now allow same-gender unions. What right do we have to say that God&#8217;s will doesn&#8217;t count anymore?
In Biblical history, we learn that God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah completely &#8211; people, livestock and vegetation &#8211; for their immoral activities. That is what is going on in this country today, and that is where the word sodomy comes from &#8211; Sodom.
There is a saying that implies if we don&#8217;t learn from history, we might have to relive it; it has been proven so over and over. If God destroyed two cities, what prevents him from destroying two states, or 50 states, or two continents or more? Nothing can.
Some might ask, what can we do to stop this through our individual efforts? The answer is that we can all work to turn this evil tide. In conversation, for example, when this topic comes up, we could say, &#8220;That is against the natural law, which is the law of God.&#8221;
Thanks to Gov. Tom Corbett and the Pennsylvania Legislature, Pennsylvania did have a ban on same-gender unions until one activist judge ruled against it a few months ago and the will of our citizens was overturned by a single individual. Where is the outcry over this? Where are our leaders, civil and religious, on this topic?
Let&#8217;s wake up, people. And, in the meantime, thank you, God, for your patience with the United States of America.
