HANOVER TWP. &#8212; Mail service pharmacy CVS Caremark will go before the township planning commission next week to present its plan to expand operations in the Hanover Crossings.Township manager Sam Guesto said preliminary plans call for construction of a more than 69,000-square-foot addition behind the existing building on Great Valley Boulevard.He did not have specific information about the cost of the project or the number of jobs to be added. &#8220;We&#8217;ll know more Tuesday,&#8221; Guesto said Thursday.The company will meet publicly with the township planning commission at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to further discuss the project.Christine Cramer, a spokeswoman for CVS Caremark also said &#8220;we don&#8217;t have any specific details to share at this time.&#8221;The company operates out of a 160,000 square-foot building in the business park. It has a lease until 2026 with Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services for the property that was originally occupied by Advance PCS in 2002.Caremark merged with Advance PCS in 2003. Four years later CVS acquired Caremark. It extended the lease in 2011.The mail order prescription drug operation ships tens of thousands of prescription weekly from the highly automated facility. It employs hundreds of employees, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, customer service representatives, clerical and management, accounts receivable and inventory and material handling personnel.
