First Posted: 10/3/2014 The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders have found a number of ways to further their community impact. A creative fan-favorite this season has been the &#8216;Hurl the Pearl&#8217; contest presented by Kost Tire and Auto Service. Fans purchased soft baseballs (pearls) to hurl at the team&#8217;s pinstriped truck as it circled the warning track. Various prizes were won. The $14,174 raised benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
