First Posted: 7/2/2014 PITTSTON &#8212; Pittston Township police charged a woman with bilking an elderly woman out of $17,552 while she was caring for her in 2013.
Donna Deleo, 53, of Rock Street, Pittston Township, was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz on two felony counts of theft. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
Police allege Deleo was caring for Loretta Musto for five years exploiting Musto&#8217;s savings for personal use, according to the criminal complaint.
Musto died March 19, 2013. She was 102.
Deleo strongly denied the allegations saying she took money that was owed to her for taking care of Musto for five years. Deleo said Musto was aware she was paying herself from Musto&#8217;s accounts.
Deleo said Musto was her aunt who lived with her.
