&#8226; Charlottes Rump: Please go through with it. Why has this taken so long? There is valuable space and a road that needs to be built.

&#8226; Paul Quigley: The &#8220;talk&#8221; of expanding Coal Street across that section of land has been known for many years. And now that King&#8217;s College has bought the former Ramada hotel, I believe it will be done sooner rather than later; it would enable a more direct route to King&#8217;s facilities. Having businesses built in transit is just an added bonus.
&#8226; BillyBedlam: I&#8217;m just curious if these are the same fictitious retail stores that were going to relocate to the now vacant lot that used to be the Planter&#8217;s Peanuts building, or the empty lot that was the Hazard building, or the empty lot that used to be the Old Fell House, or the empty lot that used to be the Sterling. How many times do the taxpayers have to get fleeced in that city before someone opens their eyes?
&#8226; BOKinLarksville: I really don&#8217;t see the benefit. Hooking the now existing Coal Street to Union Street is like hooking a fire hose to a straw. Where do the people need to go? Who want&#8217;s to be in Wilkes-Barre to begin with? I do everything in my power to avoid it. Now, if you were proposing a bridge from the bottom of Coal Street to the other side of the river, I&#8217;d say you are on to something, but wasting money just so Jewelcor can build the next defunct strip mall is a waste.
DUCKING DEBATE?
&#8226; pro-life: (Rep. Karen Boback) ducked a prior debate with another candidate for the Republican ballot years ago. Her record speaks for itself &#8230; all I hear is crickets; she has no record or ever sponsored a bill. Her family comes first, she is correct on that. Ask her hubby who has a nice state job. This woman is a joke.
&#8226; Gatekeeper: If you knew Rep. Karen Boback, you would know she is a phone call away when you need her. Her office relays any message, and she will call you personally if need be. Don&#8217;t bash her until you know her. What do you really know about the eye doctor?
&#8226; 1watching1: (Dr. Davis) Haire doesn&#8217;t understand the Legislature and how it operates on seniority. By saying he will limit his term, our area will lose seniority if he becomes our state representative. Maybe he needs to take a civics course before he makes wild promises.
&#8226; Tom Sawyer: Debating proves nothing other than who is a good debater.
&#8226; River Rat: So it appears we have a Boback supporter who sees no need for the people&#8217;s elected representative to be held accountable to the people. If her family needs her that badly, perhaps she should do the right thing and stay the heck home. Family is more important, so where does she get the time to go to Harrisburg? Poor daughter home all alone.
