First Posted: 3/27/2012 (AP) Vice President Joe Biden is seeking to portray Republican Mitt Romney as a supporter of outsourcing, using a speech in Iowa to undercut Romney's work in business and as Massachusetts governor.
Biden was speaking Wednesday in Davenport, Iowa, where he was telling employees at an engineering firm that Romney has supported tax cuts that "go to companies that create jobs overseas." The Obama campaign released excerpts of the speech on Tuesday.
Biden says Romney has been "remarkably consistent" during his political and business career, "consistently wrong." The vice president cites a bill Romney vetoed that would have prevented the state from outsourcing contracts overseas.
The vice president has sought to frame some of the key issues in the 2012 election, holding events in Ohio and Florida in recent weeks.
