<b>First Posted:</b> 10/2/2009<br><br>The  businessman whose warehouse was searched by federal authorities last month for Luzerne County records was arrested Friday and charged with obstruction of justice, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney William Houser.

Barton Weidlich was arraigned before U.S. District Magistrate Malachy Mannion and remanded to the Lackawanna County Prison in Scranton. He will be held until at least Monday, when he will appear at a hearing in Wilkes-Barre to determine whether he will remain in custody, Houser said.
Weidlich, a friend of Luzerne County Commissioner Greg Skrepenak and former Luzerne County Chief Clerk/Manager Sam Guesto, owns the warehouse in Pittston where federal investigators obtained the county records Guesto had stored there. The records were either copies or originals.
Houser said he could not comment further on the case.
