HAZLETON &#8212; Police Sunday charged Earl Hunsinger, 40, of Hazleton with assaulting a woman and threatening to kill her after breaking into her residence in the 100 block of East Maple Street.Police said they were dispatched to the residence just before 7 a.m. after the woman escaped and called for help.Police said the woman told them she was asleep when Hunsinger broke into her home. He refused to leave and, armed with a knife, held her captive, police said. She fled the residence and Hunsinger remained inside where police took him into custody.Hunsinger was arraigned by District Judge Martin Kane, Wilkes-Barre on charges of burglary, unlawful restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hunsinger was unable to post $60,000 bail and committed to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
