A bust of the late playwright and actor Jason Miller will be unveiled at 12:15 p.m. Monday at Courthouse Square in Scranton, followed by a free showing of a one-man play about Miller&amp;rsquo;s life.
&amp;ldquo;The Purgatory Diaries of Jason Miller&amp;rdquo; will be presented at 2 p.m. in Shopland Hall, the fourth-floor theater in the Scranton Cultural Center, with local actor Bob Hughes playing Miller.
&amp;ldquo;It focuses on his last 15 years in Scranton, when he was the &amp;lsquo;Arnold Palmer&amp;rsquo; of local theater,&amp;rdquo; Hughes said. &amp;ldquo;It reflects over his career, his movie career and his acting and writing career. It capitalizes on his ascent to stardom and his descent into a loss of fame and loss of prominence.&amp;rdquo;
The play was written by local playwright Tom Flannery, who collaborated with screenwriter Roger Jacobs.
