They won the title of &#8220;Funfest Super Group&#8221; for having the highest group scores and first place awards in every category they entered: tap, novelty and pantomime. Members of the group, who are students of Robert Oberst at the Back Mountain Dance Studio, are: Karen Burd, Kassy Yedesko, Amy Sorber, Shana Baker, Angela Martino, Amy Samuels, Teresa Belles and Karla Cibello.30 years ago - 1985Winners of the Demolition Derby sponsored by the Lehman Township Volunteer Fire Company Sunday afternoon at the Lehman Horse Show Grounds are: Dan Klein, firs place; Kenny Miller, second place; and Butch Burkholder, third place.Eleven Dallas Intermediate School students recently were presented certificates for academic achievement at an awards assembly. During the 1984-1985 school year, the students had maintained an A average. A family picnic was held at the beginning of the evening, followed by the launching of the rockets made by the boys. Awards were given to Forrest Egan, scientist, naturalist, engineer and scholar; Robert Montgomery, athlete and sportsman; Tom Peeler, athlete and sportsman; Kevin Booth, athlete and sportsman; and John Petro, athlete and sportsman.Edward F. The award was given at an assembly on the last day of school.Carverton Methodist Church staged its Children&#8217;s Day program on Sunday, with approximately sixty children taking part. Announcer was Charles Wasserott, a sixth grade student. Ushers were Donald Lewis, Robert Owen, James Culver and Douglas Wasserott.The American Legion School Award presented by the Daddow Isaacs Post, Dallas, for the outstanding boy and girl in the 8th grade of Dallas Junior High School, was awarded to Vincent Roman and Carol Crawford. The American Legion School Award is designed to give recognition through the award of American Legion Medals to the boy and to the girl who are deemed most worthy of the high qualities of leadership, scholarship, honor, courage and service. 60 years ago - 1955Mrs. Homer Middleton presented her piano pupils in a recital and entertained their mothers at a party at her home, Sunny Slope, West Dallas, on Saturday afternoon. Taking part were Sandy Agnew, Linda Calkins, Shirley Disque, Althy Disque, Cookie Goodman, Nancy Hoover, Clyde Major, Beverly Moyer, Harry Schooley, Jr., Bobby Shouldice and Shirley Yalock.Mrs. Doris Mallin and Mrs. Thomas Reese, co-chairmen for the Library Auction Candy Booth sponsored by Dallas Junior Woman&#8217;s Club, has spread an appeal for homemade candy. Mrs. Mallin stresses the fact that such candy may be made well in advance of July 8, some varieties even lending themselves to freezing. Working on the candy committee are: Mrs. Clyde Brace, Mrs. Samuel Margellina, Mrs. C. Robert Appel, Mrs. Loren Fiske, and Shirley Reese. 70 years ago - 1945Miss Hedwig Zbick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zbick of Jackson Township, had the highest rank out of a class of 43 students in the graduating class of Lehman High School. Hedwig&#8217;s average was over ninety-five.With the addition of Mrs. H.M.
