Meteorologists spy clue to heat waves weeks away

First Posted: 10/31/2013 Amie O&#8217;Harra, winner of the United Way Dream Card Contest, was surprised Thursday at her work place, Guard Insurance Group in Wilkes-Barre, with a 42-inch TV. Bill Jones, CEO of United Way, presented her with the prize. O&#8217;Harra was selected at random in a drawing of cards that were created and shared at various community events and at United Way meetings at numerous job sites in the area. Nearly 700 cards were collected. The United Way of Wyoming Valley&#8217;s public phase of its campaign to support local programs that assist more than 53,000 area people is wrapping up in November.
