Hagel offers troops rare glimmer of hope on budget

First Posted: 10/30/2013 The second annual Striking Out SIDS fundraiser in memory of Luke Richard Thomas will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at Chacko&#8217;s Family Bowling Center, 195 North Wilkes-Barre Blvd., Wilkes-Barre. Cost is $15 for adults; $10 for children 5-12; and free for children younger than four. Cost includes two hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental, one large pizza and pitcher of soda. There will also be a basket raffle and bake sale. All proceeds will benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), a national non-profit organization. Luke Thomas was the son of Keith and Sara Lucarella Thomas, who died from SIDS at the age of seven months in April 2011.
