Services send mystery boxes of socks, sex toys

First Posted: 12/10/2013 TRUCKSVILLE &#8212; Phillip G. Hitchings, 78, of Trucksville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1934, in Luzerne, he was a son of the late Charles and Georgina Tudgay Hitchings. Phil was a graduate of Kingston High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by Glen Carbonic Gas Co., Plymouth, as a serviceman. Phil was a huge fan of Penn State.
He was a member of St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Nancy Anderson; children, Charlene and Michael Chicalo, Stratford, N.J.; Carri-Beth and John White, Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandsons, Michael, Jack, Andrew and Luke; sister, Esther Sivulich, Plainfield, N.J.; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Friday in St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church, 474 Yalick Road, off Route 118, Dallas, with the Rev. Charles H. Grube officiating.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church or the Luzerne County SPCA.
